Measuring has been a common task for architects throughout the ages. Whereas it has been done by foot, sticks or whatever you can find, a scale ruler makes it much easier to draw in the correct ratio in just a few minutes.

Hi Maija! You've picked a great topic for the tutorial. I remember watching one of these tutorials when I first started studying architecture. You nailed the demonstration. I like that you took the time to really explain what a scale ruler is and why it's useful.
ReplyDeleteIf I have to point out something to improve, it would be the editing. I wish the frame would've been horizontal and more zoomed in so that it would've been easier to see the measurements of the rulers etc. The video also felt a little anonymous because the viewer didn't see who is behind the camera but I understand that it's not the point of the tutorial.

Hello! Thank you for a very informative video. You succeeded in explaining the point of the scale ruler. It is not as easy as it would seem. I think the key to it was that, for the first example, you took a small item that can be handheld. For someone new to the concept of scale, I think that is an easy place to start. I also liked that you took your time. It made the video calm and enjoyable. For improvement, I would also suggest editing and using more than one angle of view. But I think the video works well as it is :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a good topic! I like you wrote down the heading on the white paper with a marker which clearly tells what the video is about. Also, the information in the demonstration is well delivered. The info is beneficial to the audience even if they are not in the architecture field. It would be even better if it is in landscape orientation as it fits better on both desktop and mobile. Besides, the embedded video on this page will perform and visually looks better if the size could be larger. Good job!
